Wedding Stationery Design

Project Overview

I designed a custom wedding invitation suite for Olivia Wilson and Ryan Bott, who were planning a rustic, farm-style wedding in Urbana, Illinois. The couple wanted stationery that felt warm, personal, and reflective of their venue and aesthetic—something timeless, handcrafted, and nature-inspired rather than overly formal.

Objectives

  • Create a cohesive invitation suite that reflected a rustic barn-wedding theme

  • Incorporate custom illustration and hand-drawn details for a personal feel

  • Design pieces that felt tactile, warm, and intimate

  • Maintain clear typographic hierarchy for legibility and elegance

Design Approach

I began by developing a hand-drawn illustration of the couple’s wedding venue—a barn—to serve as a visual anchor across the suite. To enhance the rustic aesthetic, I selected a kraft-paper texture and a warm, neutral color palette that complemented the natural tones of the venue and décor.

The typography paired a refined serif for formal details with a script-style typeface for names and accents, balancing structure with warmth. Decorative botanical elements and subtle framing were used to unify the pieces while keeping the layout light and uncluttered.

Each piece was designed as part of a unified system, using consistent illustration style, typography, and layout structure to ensure visual continuity.

Outcome

The combination of custom illustration, warm textures, and thoughtful typography resulted in stationery that felt intimate, timeless, and meaningful.
