Phoenix Forges

Phoenix Forges

Brand Identity & Marketing Collateral

Project Overview

Phoenix Forges is a small, artist-run Etsy business specializing in handcrafted, eclectic jewelry. The brand needed a cohesive visual identity that reflected the maker’s process—organic, intentional, and forged by hand—while still feeling professional and trustworthy in a digital marketplace.

The goal was to create a flexible brand system that could scale across print and online touchpoints, from business cards to an Etsy storefront.

Objectives

  • Create a recognizable logo rooted in symbolism and craftsmanship

  • Establish a warm, earthy color palette inspired by metalwork and fire

  • Design branded materials suitable for both print and digital use

  • Balance handmade character with clarity and professionalism

Concept & Visual Direction

The phoenix symbol was chosen to represent transformation, rebirth, and the forging process itself—mirroring both the artist’s name and the nature of handcrafted jewelry.

The visual system leans into:

  • Organic forms over rigid geometry

  • Warm, fire-inspired tones (burnt orange, deep red, charcoal)

  • Clean typography to keep the brand legible and modern

  • Subtle texture and negative space to let the work breathe

The overall aesthetic reflects a maker-first brand: thoughtful, intentional, and personal.

Logo Development

Multiple logo directions were explored, focusing on silhouette, balance, and scalability. The final mark features a simplified phoenix icon paired with a bold wordmark, designed to work across a range of applications—from small jewelry tags to large digital banners.

Both stacked and horizontal configurations were created to allow flexibility across formats.

Deliverables

  • Primary logo and alternate logo arrangements

  • Color palette and typography system

  • Business card design

  • Letterhead design

  • Etsy shop banner

  • Branded digital assets for online use

Each piece was designed as part of a unified system rather than standalone items, ensuring consistency across all customer touchpoints.

Results

The final brand identity gives Phoenix Forges a strong, recognizable presence that feels authentic to the maker while elevating the business visually. The system is flexible enough to grow with the brand and adaptable across both print and digital environments.

This project demonstrates a thoughtful balance of branding strategy, visual design, and practical application for a small creative business.
